SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY secured their place in the English Championship next season thanks to a last-gasp goal from Josh Windass at Wembley.
The ex-Rangersstar produced a moment of magic in stoppage time of extra-time after 120 minutes of goalless action in this afternoon’s play-off final.

His dramatic late header sealed the win in the 123rd minute as 10-men Barnsley were left heartbroken.
Adam Phillips was sent off just minutes after the half-time restart, leaving Michael Duff’s side with a mountain to climb.
They held their ground and fought toe-to-toe with the Owls but couldn’t prevent Windass’ heroics at the end.
The 1-0 win sends Sheffield Wednesday back up to the second-tier after spending two seasons in League One following their relegation to the third division in 2021.
Former Scotland international Barry Bannan skippered the team this season with fellow Scots Liam Palmer, Callum Patterson and George Byers featuring regularly in the side too.
Ex-Celtic midfielder Luca Connell was in the losing side and played a key role in Barnsley’s promotion push this season after joining the club last summer.
Speaking after the match, Windass admitted that he was relieved to get the winning goal but confessed that the standard of the match was extremely poor.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s probably the worst standard of a game that you’ll ever watch. Both teams were shocking to be honest, there was no real qualioty on show but luckily we got the winning goal.
“We worked all week and we tried to just get me at the edge of the box and luckily at the last minute it came off.”
